Trip Overview

You requested it for the 2007 season and we responded! Introduced in '07 the Pacific Rim Adventure is quickly becoming one of the most popular motorcycle tours in our line-up. It features the spectacular ocean vistas and quiet coastal by-ways of beautiful British Columbia.

The Pacific Rim Adventure weaves up the Sunshine Coast, explores the best of Vancouver Island and the world-renowned scenery of Tofino and captures the essence of Victoria. Three incredibly beautiful ferry rides punctuate a collection of remarkable sights unmatched anywhere in the world.

What to Expect

This seven-day holiday begins with a scenic ride past the Tantalus Mountain Range down Highway #99, the Sea to Sky Highway, to Horseshoe Bay. A short ferry ride gives us a chance to take in the breathtaking B.C. Coastline. Orca (killer whales) sightings are not uncommon. We dock in Langdale and ride the pretty Sunshine Coast to Powell River. Expect a road with glimpses of ocean views, quaint towns and thick forests that run right down to the edge of the sea.

Our second day begins with another ferry crossing from the mainland to Vancouver Island. We land in the lush town of Comox and spend the next four to five hours riding curving roads through pristine forests of old growth cedars, past crystal-clear lakes, across Vancouver Island to the rugged western coast of the island. Tofino is our destination where 1,000-year-old trees tower over flat sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see.

A day off in Tofino can be filled with whale watching excursions, surfing, jet boating, hiking, sea kayaking or just walking the 14 km of Long Beach. The town of Tofino itself is an interesting culture of fishing, environmentalism and arts rolled into one tapestry of friendly locals.

From Tofino we loop back east, then south towards Western Canada’s most picturesque city, Victoria. We spend 2 nights right in the heart of Victoria’s Inner Harbour, where the lights shimmering off the ocean waters in the bay are unforgettable. The capital city of British Columbia features a very distinct British influence and old-town charm. Spend your day off visiting the Parliament buildings or enjoy high tea at the historic Empress Hotel. Along with great shopping, Victoria has any number of tourist activities & museums to enjoy including Butchart Gardens, the Royal London Wax Museum, the Undersea Gardens, and much more. However, for those who are more keen to ride than others, Brandon has scouted a great little 250-300km ride for that day that takes us along the SW Island Coast, through Shawnigan Lake, out to Port Renfrew, and loops back to Victoria.

Our final ride is a very relaxing day and gives everybody one last taste of BC’s best roads. We’ll take a relatively short but scenic route that winds its way through the rural outskirts of Victoria en route to Schwartz Bay and the ferry terminal where we’ll enjoy lunch. Full steam ahead as our ferry sets sail for the mainland, Vancouver, and the conclusion of our adventure. But not before a fantastic final dinner and evening together in the world class River Rock Resort & Casino.

Testimonials

Dear All,

“I just have to say thanks Mike & Libby for organizing the best holiday I’ve ever had. And thank you Robert, Brandon and Aaron for making sure it all proceeded without a hitch. I’m sure you made it look easier than it actually was.

I had a great time every minute I was there and I’m not ashamed to say I got a bit misty as I watched the scene of such great memories disappear over the horizon. I’m definitely hooked!”

Luc Naidoo, London, UK
