Trip Overview

A new format for the Coast to Kootenays tour provides a little taste of everything beautiful B.C. has to offer. Beginning from the world class ski resort village of Whistler you'll ride over the Coastal Mountain Range and kiss the Rockies before swinging south for 2 nights to the motorcycle mecca of Western Canada, Nelson, B.C.

Located in the heart of the Kootenay region, Nelson easily delivers the most entertaining off-day ride you can find in this province. We'll cap off your trip with a visit to the Okanagan Valley for some well deserved rest and relaxation. The town of Osoyoos always delivers warm temperatures, great food, wine and plenty of new roads to explore. Of course if you don't feel like riding you can just relax by the pool all day or sample some of B.C.'s local wines with a tour of the vineyards.

What to Expect

Our nine-day holiday cuts through the Coast Mountains towards the famous Fraser River. From there we travel to the northeast through Marble Canyon towards Cache Creek. Our first night’s rest is back in the mountains at the Sun Peaks Delta Resort. Bear sightings are common and either a hike or a hot tub after the ride is a popular way to unwind.

The second day’s riding winds through the farming communities of the north Okanagan Valley before hooking up with the Salmon River Road, rated by the locals as “motorcycling’s best kept secret.”

As we continue east, the peaks once again become jagged and we head for the Selkirk Mountains. Our stay in the historic town of Revelstoke features fantastic vistas and a great chance to mingle with the locals.

From Revelstoke, the road turns south and skirts the banks of Upper Arrow Lake. A short ferry ride over the emerald waters of Lower Arrow Lake offers plenty of photographic opportunities before the twisties of the Monashee Mountain Range.

Following a ride along the twisting shoreline of Kootenay Lake, we stop in the historic town of Nelson. This stop-over offers riders a wonderful loop through the Kootenay Mountain region or a day to explore the many activities the area has to offer.

The next morning we stay on Highway 3 winding our way into the Okanagan valley, as we encounter Canada’s only desert for our second to last stop in Osoyoos.

That evening we spend lakeside back in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, with a stopover at the brand new Spirit Ridge Resort. Plenty of options are available to fill the rest day. Besides riding though the vineyards of the Okanagan, there are many lakeside activities, wine tours, golf, or places to simply enjoy some quality time by the pool or the lake.

Our final day takes us back to Vancouver where our adventure began! Following highway 3 west through Princeton, Manning Park and Hope where we connect with the Trans Canada Highway. The last leg of our journey winds it’s way down through the Fraser Valley and into Vancouver for our final dinner.

Testimonials

“Thank you for an exhilarating vacation. Not knowing what to expect, my wife and I joined the shortest available trip. We now wish we had opted for one of the longer versions.

We were extremely impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff, their astute attention to detail, and their genuine desire for each member of the group to have a safe and memorable vacation.

Hopefully, my wife and I will be able to join you next season for the longer tour. I can’t imagine anywhere that’s more ideal for motorcycling than British Columbia.

The roads were fantastic, the scenery awesome, and the accommodations superb. I’m still trying to figure out why I live in Chicago when I go to places as beautiful as British Columbia.”

Jim and Jerry Lee, Chicago, Illinois, USA
