The scenery is some of the best in the world, but you dont have to go far to witness these spectacular views.
British Columbia is home to the Canadian Rockies, and for some reason when the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. cross over the border into Canada they get more magnificent and breath taking. Being a lover of the Rockies, I didn’t think this was possible. Maybe it’s the access.
Roads that hug the mountainsides get you up close and personal with the expansive mountain ranges laid out before you. Maybe it’s the rugged, rocky peaks different than the peaks in the U.S., yet with their own kind of splendor. Maybe it’s the thousands of pristine lakes that fill the basins in between layers of mountains — mountains that slope down framing just the perfect picture. Maybe it’s the clean, crisp air, the unpolluted areas or the friendly, simple people.
Maybe it’s all this wrapped into one dynamite experience that makes the Canadian Rockies a must-see on your list of “motorcycling musts.”

Motorcycle World, August, 2001
by Steve Koerner
We had just started down the road and already I was leaning hard into yet another tight turn on the highway snaking through Canada’s Pacific Coast mountains. There surely must be a God. How else could anyone explain the Duffy Lake Road? This is a gift from heaven to motorcyclists everywhere. A magnificent series of hairpin curves cut through the mountains taking riders from the coastal rain forests to the arid uplands of the interior within three hours. But it’s not just the road. There were several factors adding to my two-wheeled revelation.

BIKE Magazine (UK), January, 2000
by Bertie Simmonds
You know you’re somewhere special on a bike when the quality and rarity of the road kill is enough to make David Attenborough weep. Today my route is flanked by solid cretaceous mountain rock and sweet-smelling pine instead of the central reservation and foul-smelling carbon monoxide that normally hog my morning ride.

BMF Rider (UK), September 1999. Vol.3, #7
by Baz Barron
If you’re into snow-capped peaks, breathtaking twisty mountain passes, glaciers, waterfalls and a few dangerous bears, then Canada has it all. BMF’s Public Relations and Communications Director, Baz Barron, wanted to experience the biking journey of a lifetime. What’s more, he found a company that provided bikes and carried his luggage too. Here are extracts from his journal.

Sunday Times (UK), June 13, 1999
by Jonathan Futrell
His imagination fired by a hundred motorcycle movies, Jonathan Futrell, toughs it out with a team of fellow bikers on the high-speed bends and empty roads of the Canadian Rockies.

Glowing embers pierced the sky as the last of the sun’s rays turned the western edge of the Rocky Mountains into liquid gold. The sun was setting as we settled back into the hot springs pool, soothing away the tensions of the day’s ride. Stars popped into the gathering blue of the clear sky. Sound too good to be true? I was in the middle of a weeklong motorcycle tour with riders from all over the world, winding through the lakes and mountain ranges of Canada’s western province, and my rain suit was still dry.

Luxury motorcycle trips from 7 to 15 days through the Canadian and U.S. Rocky Mountains.
"Thank you for an exhilarating vacation. Not knowing what to expect, my wife and I joined the shortest available trip. We now wish we had opted for one of the longer versions.
We were extremely impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff, their astute attention to detail, and their genuine desire for each member of the group to have a safe and memorable vacation.
Hopefully, my wife and I will be able to join you next season for the longer tour. I can’t imagine anywhere that’s more ideal for motorcycling than British Columbia.
The roads were fantastic, the scenery awesome, and the accommodations superb. I’m still trying to figure out why I live in Chicago when I go to places as beautiful as British Columbia.”
